Rolls delivers the photos of you from a night with your people. Friends form a crew, each person enrolls their face on their own phone, and when someone scans their camera roll, photos are matched locally and — after that person approves — delivered to the people in them.
Rolls is a delivery service, not an archive.
Don’t use Rolls to harm people. You must not enroll someone else’s face, try to defeat matching or approval, upload unlawful content, harass others, spam invites, scrape the service, or reverse-engineer it except where law grants that right. We may remove content or suspend accounts that break these rules.
You can delete your account in the app at any time. That erases your data as described in the Privacy Policy. It is immediate and irreversible. We may suspend an account for material breach, or shut the service down; if we shut down, we’ll give reasonable notice to save delivered photos.
Rolls is currently free. If we add paid features, they’ll be optional, priced clearly, purchased through Apple, and no paid tier will ever weaken the privacy model or the free ability to receive photos of you.
We promise to run Rolls with reasonable skill and care and to honor the Privacy Policy. Beyond that, Rolls is provided “as is.” Face matching is probabilistic: we bias hard toward never delivering a photo to the wrong person, which means some real photos of you will be missed — a design choice, not a defect. To the extent the law allows, Octave’s total liability is capped at the greater of what you paid us in the last 12 months or €50, and we are not liable for indirect losses. Nothing limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited, or your statutory consumer rights, or your rights under the GDPR.
Rolls is distributed through the App Store. These terms are between you and Octave, not Apple. Apple has no obligation to support the app, but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. You must also comply with the App Store terms, and you represent you’re not in an embargoed territory or on a restricted-parties list.
We can update these terms. For material changes we’ll notify you in the app at least 30 days before they take effect; continuing to use Rolls after that is acceptance. If you don’t accept, delete your account.
These terms are governed by the laws of Iceland. Disputes go to the courts of Reykjavík — except that if you’re a consumer in the EEA, you keep the protection of your home country’s mandatory consumer law and the right to sue or be sued at home. EU online dispute resolution: ec.europa.eu/odr.
If part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest stands. You can’t transfer your account; we may assign these terms as part of a reorganization or sale, in which case the Privacy Policy’s promises travel with your data. These terms plus the Privacy Policy are the whole agreement.
